TCNN, Bukuru - In a touching and heartwarming event, Chief Kefas Wungak Ropshik fulfilled his promise by welcoming eight newly adopted children from the IDP camp in Mangu, LGA. This generous act of kindness took place at the residence of the ten children who have been a part of the foundation's family for over six years. In a remarkable show of compassion and dedication to improving the lives of less privileged children, Chief Kefas Wungak Ropshik's foundation opened its doors to eight new members, bringing hope and happiness to their lives. This extraordinary event was the culmination of a promise Chief Kefas made a month ago when the foundation initiated a medical outreach and distributed relief materials to the same community.
The heartfelt gathering was attended by members of the Mwagahvul Development Association, the wife of the Caretaker chairman of Kanke Local Government Area, Mrs. Monica Caleb Shikir and the newly promoted Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igwe, who shared touching stories of his own experiences with adoption, the chaplain of Theological College of Northern Nigeria (TCNN) Secondary school, Pastor Ulus Dogai was also present. The relatives of the children, who were present to witness this heartwarming occasion, added to the sense of family and community.

The event commenced with a touching song performed by the children already under the foundation's care, as they welcomed their new brothers and sisters with open arms and warm smiles. It was a truly emotional and inspiring moment as the children formed a harmonious bond, showcasing the essence of unity and togetherness. Mrs. Monica Caleb Shikir, the wife of the Caretaker chairman of Kanke LGA, took the opportunity to commend Chief Kefas's efforts and kindness, underscoring the significance of the event. She spoke of the positive impact that Chief Kefas's foundation has had on the community and the lives of these children, reinforcing the idea that small acts of kindness can make a profound difference.
Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igwe, then shared his own touching journey of adopting children and encouraged Chief Kefas to continue his mission, emphasizing the importance of giving children in need a loving and nurturing environment. He said “Let the acts of my younger brother, Kefiano be a lesson to others. Where I go and come out, not everyone police man can survive, its not by my power but the blessings of children I adopted in the past. I adopted four children before God gave me my own so I know the benefits. Also to the children, I enjoin you to keep on praying for your father so he can take care of you” His words resonated with the audience, reaffirming the significance of Chief Kefas's actions.
Chief Kefas, in his heartfelt reflection, expressed gratitude to all those who have supported the foundation and the individuals who provide care for the children. He urged other well-meaning Plateau citizens to be proactive in extending a helping hand to the less privileged, stressing that every effort counts and can contribute to a brighter future for children in need.
With a sober and reflective tone, Chief Kefas remarked “Lets all try to adopt a child and add value to humanity. The reason crime is high because some children do not have parental guidance, they feel neglected and engage in crime. I believe when more people do this gesture, criminality will reduce. This children are everyones responsibility and not mine alone. My desire is for them to come out better than I met them. I do not want to be remembered for how much money I have but how many lives I touch”
The event concluded with a sense of unity, love, and an atmosphere of hope for the future of these children who are now part of Chief Kefas's extended family. It was a testament to the power of compassion and the impact of a community coming together to support those who need it most. He also promised to build a bigger home in the coming year to house more kids as he plans on adopting more orphans
